Soulstone Survivors
Soulstone Survivors is the most mechanically ambitious game in the survivor-like genre and the one most likely to be uninstalled after an hour, for the same reason: its best system is hidden. Powers are conditional, so the upgrades offered to you are filtered by the build you already have, and three sources of a single status effect is the threshold where the game starts handing you real multipliers. Around 91 percent positive on Steam from roughly 27,000 reviews after a June 2025 1.0 release, with 23 characters, 373 skills and five distinct game modes.
Overview
¿De qué va el juego?
A 3D action roguelite with the deepest build system in the survivor-like genre — and almost no explanation of it. The powers you are offered depend on what you already picked, which turns level-ups from a slot machine into a planning problem once you know the rule.
Conditional powers
one source of an effect unlocks apply-on-hit, two unlock apply-on-crit and the next chain link, three unlock damage and tick-rate increases. The game never states this.
Characters are skill pools
23 of them, each with five Main Skill Types that filter which of the 373 active skills can be offered to you at all.
Five game modes
Void Fields, Overlord, Endless, Titan Hunt and the Unholy Cathedral, not one loop with difficulty sliders.
Speed, not survival
a match is five sequences rather than a timer, and finishing under 13 or 15 minutes is what opens the two extra modes.
Seven curse tiers
named packages rather than a slider, where tier V is harder than tier VII because it weakens you instead of strengthening enemies.
Honest caveats
the best systems are undocumented, and the first several hours are decided by the Skill Tree more than by your play.
